I was a bit disappointed when this jacket arrived as I was looking for a light weight down jacket, which I own and is very warm. I purchased at the wrong time when these light weight versions were on clearance so finding a down version under $100? forget it not a chance! So I ordered this one. not being a big fan of synthetics I wasn't expecting much other than possible not as static with my long hair. The jacket has a stand up type collar which pokes you in the face, hopefully with training it will stay down a bit. The jacket itself fits great to advertises size and feels nice and light and it is really warm, warmer than I expected. The 2 outside pockets are felt lined and help with warmth. There is a left outside chest pocket and is pretty good size. Inside there is only one chest pocket on right side, no dump pockets. The jacket rides right at top of hip so it can ride up in the car. Overall at this price level is a nice jacket and is great to toss into the car for an extra jacket. Durability is still in question as its too new to judge. Got the black color and its not real shiny thankfully. This is a great jacket for when temperatures are in the not quite freezing range -- 40s down to low 30s. It fits very well, athletic without being too tight in the body. I bought a size Large and the sleeves and torso length are just right for my 6'3" frame. It is very lightweight (and not bulky at all) but the insulation works wonderfully. It has great wind stopping power and does a good job resisting water, although I haven't had the chance to test it in a downpour. The fabric is tough and does't tear when it catches on a branch. I can't speak to its technical capabilities as I use it for tooling around the city (and not trekking on Mt. Washington), but I am very happy with the purchase. As mentioned, it does max out around the freezing mark and that's when I switch to my Marmot 800-fill down jacket. But, it's been great for our somewhat mild Washington, DC winter so far. Recommended.Bought this to use as a mid-layer for skiing in the Pacific NW where the typical temps can be anywhere from 0F to 45F. The jacket is surprisingly warm for as compact (thin) as it is... though called a "plume" isn't "puffy". I've used it under a hard shell on a 27-34 degree day and found I was unzipping it to modulate the temps as the day warmed. On a 17-21 degree day it was a perfect mid-layer. Great as a mid-layer or by itself for around town or the lodge. The quality is excellent.Fit is true to the OR sizing chart. I'm 5'8", 44" chest, 34" waist and 33/34 inch arm length and a large is perfect (note: Velcro sleeve adjustment allows a nice fit for the cuff or sleeve might have been a bit long). The jacket fits perfectly, and it is one of the most versatile peices in my closet. It can be used as for layerinig, or perfectly as a stand alone. It is thin enough to not burn you up but perfectly able to hold out the cold. I find it most useful for the damp or rainy days when down is vulnerable. This will work perfect for the cool mornings when wading for trout, and compressable enough to put in my fly vest for when it warms up at lunch time. I plan to put it through the ringer. I hope this review serves you well... Cheers!I do not normally write product reviews....but in this case the jacket is perfect for my husband. He did not think the old 10 year old jacket would ever be replaceable, but wala you guys kept the same style plus improvements...he wears it all the time except to bed.....he is a very HAPPY Camper for sure. Keep up the great work :)))OK light weight spring jacket sleeves are to long 6-1 large is a bit small but xl is to big I will keep it if it holds up or a month kind of feels cheapGreat quality product.I own several OR jackets, although, with the Neoplume I seem to be stuck between a medium and a large at 5'8", 185 lbs.Great mid layer or around town jacket. If you have a muscular build size up as it is tight in the chest and shoulders.
